Description
This work is of mixed styles, principally my signature angled flat brush calligraphic style, set in a geometric landscape rendered with earth-based pigments. I use earth-based pigments in this painting to highlight the earthen world as a mirror of ourselves, and the essence of ourselves, as children of the earth. While we observe the world from our seemingly limited faculties, we forget the unlimited power of the human mind, to set free, and navigate through the always transitioning realities of our experiences. This painting has a metaphysical tone, highlighting the state of mind which is constantly evolving in and through the frames of life. The central protagonist in the work is the whirling dervish, a recurring motif in my work that symbolizes man’s ability to explore different frames of mind in search of utopia
